Please note:  All AASL bloggers must be pre-approved by the Blog Managers for Author status.

If you are interested in becoming an AASL blog-reporter, please do through the following:

1.  Go to http://www.aasl.ala.org/aaslblog  to Register for the blog.
Use your first initial last name (e.g, jwalker) as your login.

Once you have registered, check your email for a rmessage from Wordpress at aasl.ala.org with a temporary password.

Then log in to the blog and change your password to something that YOU will remember!

At this point you will have Subscriber status, which will allow you to add comments to other posts, but not publish any new posts.

2.  Download the required Copyright Agreement form at copyright_assignment.pdf

Fill in your name & address, AASL BLOG as the Journal Name. current Year, and Effective Date,  and then

send the completed form to Jonathan West at ALA/AASL    Fax: 312-280-5276 email: jwest@ala.org  Re: AASL Blog Copyright Agreement

Please Note:  Everyone who writes for the AASL Blog must sign and submit an annual ALA Copyright Agreement.

FWIW, all this form does is give AASL *first publication* rights, which means that what you are posting appears on the blog before you can publish it anywhere else.

3.  Send an email to the Blog Managers at aaslblog@gmail.com  with:

    • the login you used to register, and the date you sent the Copyright Agreement to the AASL office,
    • your job title/worksite,
    • the specific event/program/conference(s) you will report on,
    • any special interests / viewpoints you have to share with the blog's readership, and
    • any AASL positions (Affiliate rep, committee chair, etc.).you currently hold.

4.  Please read the HowToPostBlogContent and other Guidelines on this wiki while you are waiting for your Welcome response from the Blog Managers.

Once the Blog Managers have received your email and verification that you’ve sent in the copyright agreement,

we can then upgrade your status so that you can post to the blog.
